Things to see and do in the Western Algarve
Our house is situated on the new phase four of the development which is within walking distance of the traditional Portuguese village of Budens. The village has a number of bars and restaurants together with a very well equipped supermarket that sells fresh croissants baked daily on site.
Just below the resort is the picturesque fishing village of Salema with a plethora of small restaurants and bars and a beautiful sandy beach which is ideal for young families. Salema is still unspoilt and the local population are some of the friendliest Portuguese you will find on the Algarve.
Exploring west from Parque da Floresta you will find numerous safe sandy coves many with their own restaurants which are normally open all year round. In the house there is a folder with our recommendations of the best restaurants and bars that are within a short taxi ride of the resort.
Your holiday would not be complete without a visit to Lagos with its myriad of tiny streets, café style street bars and restaurants, night clubs and marina. Here boat trips can be organised to see the dolphins, a coastal trip to Cape St Vincent or for the fisherman amongst you a full day deep sea fishing in the Atlantic.
Golf – A complete guide to all the local golf courses is available in the house or from the main reception. We can pre – book courses for you or you can contact Parque da Floresta direct and they will handle your itinerary for you. Golf coaching is also available from the resorts on site professional.
